Bachelorette parties are so much fun! Full of celebration, laughs, usually booze!, and lots of fun memories. Often times, though, the group of bridesmaids or friends planning the event will all have different experiences with Bachelorette festivities, and therefore different ideas of how the evening or weekend should go.
Some will picture a wild night at a club. Others picture relaxing by a pool with a cocktail. And everything in between. It can be a challenge to reign in all these ideas into one cohesive celebration.
The key? And this may be obvious. Listen to the Bride. Haha. Now, some brides will tell you exactly what they want. Others may want to be surprised and leave it to the group to plan. But it is supremely helpful if the bride can hone in on one visual that they are picturing for the weekend. When they picture their bachelorette party, what do they see? What is the one thing they really want to do?
For some it may be day drinking by the pool. And maybe they don’t care so much about the night out. You can still go out at night of course, but spend your energy and money on the daytime stuff, to ensure that is the highlight. Maybe you get everyone matching cups with straws, buy fun pool floaties. Make an awesome music playlist to have by the pool. Or book a cabana at a popular hotel pool party.
Another bride may picture a big evening of dinner and dancing. Same thing here – you can still lounge by the pool or do a fun brunch during the day, but focus your party planning on the one evening out, to make certain that goes off without a hitch. Book dinner at an awesome place and plan Ubers or a Limo to take the group from dinner to a club for dancing, with a round of champagne already purchased.
And if you are buying any matching items for the group – shirts, hats, tote bags, cups, whatever it may be. Make sure they are for this main event.
Note – whether they think they want one or not, I say always get the Bride one of those sashes! It’s good for a photo, if nothing else. It doesn’t have to be an expensive one. And they don’t have to wear it the whole time. (It’ll also probably get her a free drink in public, if that’s something she is interested in 😉 Haha! )
